Union of Democratic Worlds

United We Conqer

A warm breeze wafts through the palace on Xin’Xia. A marble structure where the Supreme Ruler of the Decree, Avi’Xoto the 2nd, occasionally spends their time relaxing. They breathe in the thick air and look on into the jungles below. Admiring the leaves on the tree waving hypnotically. They turn their gaze back inside the palace. “Finally, some time alone, away from the clamours of my advisors” They rest on a soft matted throne and close their eyes.

A bright flash. Xeruto felt their eyes burning. If they hadn’t been blinking they would surely be blind. Opening their eyes, and looking out the bridge, the planet before them was gone. The bridge crew were wailing in pain as the light had blinded most of them. Xeruto called the terminal console, realized that they had just witnessed the destruction of Xin’Xia, and the Supreme Ruler whom they were stationed to protect. The planet was atomized, its remains spread in a streak across the galaxy. The other starships in proximity were damaged and floating out of formation. Xeruto knew exactly who did this, but felt their lungs collapse as the starship began breaking apart from the damage sustained.

“Good job people! Great work! Let’s call it a night” Cheered Brigade Commissioner Almon. The entire control room cheered as they registered a successful hit on their monitors. Almon slumped back at his chair, sweating from the long moments of stress. Hitting a planet trillions of lightyears away with their cosmic weapon was an impossibility only achieved thanks to their supercomputers. This was the break that the Civil Space Union needed to establish their democratic values across the universe.

Urugen Levarr walked down the main hallway to the office of the Chief Executor of the Civil Space Union. As Defence Director of the Civil Space Union, he was responsible for establishing the the Blind Eye Doctrine, where the entire Union Congress gave 5 years of free control over the defence funds. Coupled with the Chief Executor’s economic policies, Levarr was able to create a super weapon that none knew existed.

Pontine looks frantic as Levarr walks out of the room. “What you’re doing is against democracy!” He shouts, standing up from his desk. Levarr waves a hand and smiles, “But it is constitutional.” He replies. Everyone in the room can only look on in shock.
